About the Facility

The organization was founded in 2013 as a privately run tutoring business. Over time additional tutors were hired and the business, formerly known as S&S Tutoring, moved from public library facilities to a location at 515 Goderich Street in Maple Square Mall. This enabled the business to thrive in a new facility and cater to additional staff and students. In ­­­­July 2017, The Learning Academy expanded to meet community needs by opening a larger and more modernized tutoring space, located in closer proximity to public schools to allow for easier access to students and families. Over the years, our programs have flourished and grown. As our organization grew, our Board of Directors undertook the task of re-branding to ensure all of our programs were represented in our identity. The Learning Academy was launched in 2017 to incorporate learning and educational services to children of all ages.

The Learning Academy is a caring, professional, supportive, and responsive licensed education center. Programs are offered for children from birth to age eighteen to enrich the lives of children in education and learning while supporting parents and teachers. Our programs offer a support system for raising a child while supporting success in education and learning. The Learning Academy is committed to provide a welcoming, supportive, engaging and challenging environment for children to play, learn, explore, discover and create. Our teachers work hand in hand with the children to answer their questions, to seek out knowledge and understanding and to foster their sense of wonder and curiosity. The Learning Academy’s programs are inspired by the Reggio Emilia approach. Each child is recognized to be unique and each family’s individuality is valued. By accepting the total child, setting clear and defined goals and limits, while allowing for self-expression, each child’s needs are met. Our compassionate, safe, and caring environment creates a place for children to gain confidence, develop positive self-esteem, and mature emotionally. We believe that parents are the most important people in a child’s life and we work closely with parents to achieve the best care for their child.
